Did not occur during show or animal demonstration, child was not inside fossa habitat, and fossa did not escape... sounds like some parent let their 2-year-old stick their fingers/hand/arm through the barrier.

The zoo has some great updates on its website in regards to the 2019 expansion plans: Lincoln Children's Zoo : Expansion : Love Your Zoo Giraffes (with the obligatory feeding experience), tigers (no species listed), spider monkeys (adjacent to a pretty cool-looking children's play area) and an entirely new entry plaza are the 4 major additions to the zoo. I visited this impressive, mid-sized facility in 2014 and at the time it mainly catered to young families with an array of smaller creatures, but this expansion will be the most significant development in the zoo's 50+ year history.

From Woodland Park Zoo: Lulu has a new adventure ahead of her. In early September she heads off to Lincoln, Nebraska to join a herd of young giraffes in an expansive new home built just for these tall wonders. Seen here when she first explored outdoors, Lulu is now 10 feet tall and independent. Her move is part of the Species Survival Plan, a conservation breeding program accredited zoos across the nation manage together to assure every individual animal and species populations have a healthy and stable future. Come wish Lulu well and help us send her off with love!
Is there anything at Lincoln that's rare in zoos? Is the fossa outside/easily photographed? On sunday I don't have to be at Simmons until 2, my plan is to go to a nearby dog show in the morning (I've photographed almost every AKC breed, and there will be 2 there that I'm missing) but I don't want to miss out on something great in Lincoln, either. Edit: Another question. The website says it's closed for the season starting October 16 (today), but their facebook says nothing about it, just stuff about boo at the zoo at the end of the month. Is it closed?
I believe they are no longer open daily after today. They have the Halloween event on some evenings later this month. I think this is the last year that they will close for winter. Once the expansion is completed, I believe they intend to be a year around zoo.
