What's happening on gorilla island? Has nico died? If so, what's going into his enclosure?

No news on him passing away. That I can find.

They are building a new enclosure for a bachelor group of males on the far side of the lake.

Unless someone else has any more recent news.

If you read the first thread about Longleat future and news then you will have known that Star has indeed died!

Don't know if this has been mentioned (sorry if it has!) Luna give birth to two cubs (genders unknown) on the 27th September. Longleat have had 10 cubs since Nibalo arrived in October 2010.

Has anybody noticed on the news feed at the top of the Warminster web page it mentions new enclosures for Penguins (as I predicted in an earlier thread) and more surprisingly Sun Bears!

I also saw this, well predicted on the penguins! I wonder what they will be getting? I assume this will be part of their new developments around the house, and not part of the safari?

Went to Longleat today for their Christmas opening.

The giraffe feeding station is being constructed near the entrance to the reserve for the public to feed the giraffes.

The new Gorilla Island (which is actually on land) is being built down by the sealion beach/pelican area of the lake.

The Cheetahs were out in their quarantine enclosure.

There are now two tapirs, so Im assuming a new male has been brought in for Jess after the death of Jethro last year.

Anne was out in her yard, and seemed to be looking well, even in this cold weather!
