Hey everyone! I do hope all of you are doing well and as well as your loved ones, stay safe while out :) I wanted to start this thread again since it’s our tradition now and want to start the photo showcase for this month so we can show off our best work! Here are the guidelines:

    1. 4 entries per month.
    2. They can upload photos that can be found in the regular gallery if they’d like to.
    3. Photos don’t have to necessarily have to be from the month aforementioned in the title although it can take some time to develop photos.
    4. It must be photos we consider our best work meaning not blurry or potentially boring such as an animal butt as said before.
    5. To have the photos be of different subjects per month although they can be of the same subject the following month as long as all the entries for the month aren’t of the same one. Example such as 4 entries of the same big cat or pachyderm won’t be taken into consideration but you can enter the same photo of the big cat or pachyderm the following month along with 3 other different subjects.
    6. Photos aren’t strictly limited to zoological gardens. They can be from sanctuaries, aquariums, nature reserves.
    7. Do try your best to add where they were taken either in the description or by adding tags.

Since a good chunk of zoos and aquariums are closed, I encourage for this who go out and photograph outside to upload as well. Seeing as I live in Hollywood, you may see normal neighborhood critters such as finches and hawks or older photos I happen to have found :D I wish you all best of luck and please be safe!

Just a side note, finally got my new Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 lens for my Z50 so prepare for better pics of the platypus in San Diego when they open up as well as some cool portraits too :p

It’s very appropriate to share it on here that way we can get our photography game on :DHopefully the LA Zoo will be open by next Friday but I don’t know due to the lifting of certain restrictions by phases from the mayor :/

I don't seem to be able to upload to this album, or the others at the moment?

When I click on the album it gives me the upload button on the top left, so I am not sure what the issue is. If it still won't let you upload in a couple hours, I would click the help button on the bottom of the screen and then click the bottom option "technical issues".

When I click "add media" , the following page does not have the upload button and the albums are missing from the drop down menu. It's fine with zoo galleries. I'll maybe try tomorrow.

@littleRedPanda I tried it just now and it works fine for me. I went through all the steps up until the final save (since I did not want to actually upload a photo) and it let me do them no problem. Are you already inside the album when you click add media?

Yes, inside the album as normal. I've now tried it in ME and Chrome, with no joy.

are the albums usually at the top of the drop down menu, before the zoos?

@littleRedPanda You need to be inside the album first (albums are not accessible from the regular dropdown menu). Use the link I provided above to get into the album first and then you should be able to do it.

@littleRedPanda I don’t know if this would make a difference and a big thank you to @Arizona Docent for the big help, but I mainly upload from my phone and sends me directly to the album via the link provided by @Arizona Docent. Maybe try uploading from your phone if it makes it easier :/

Make sure you're comfortable with their rules before entering! Entering (not just winning) gives WCS the right to use your photo for whatever they want for life, without crediting you. Hopefully WCS means well with this contest, but a long of companies do things like this to get free works to use, without paying artists.

btw I'm having the same problem as @littleRedPanda. When in the album, the only "add media" or related link is the one at the top that takes you to the regular add media page, shown in the screenshot they posted.

Thank you and will do! I couldn’t imagine WCS using it for malicious reasons but it seems like at least I’ll be given credit. I just like showing off my work and they won’t be getting all of my best shots just to keep some for me :D
