Method To Catalog Photos On Zoochat By Species?

I just thought it would be a great idea to have a feature within the site to add metadata to the photos when uploading so that when you're at a zoo and you take a photo of a (for example) White Rhino, not only could you title the image as "White Rhino" but you would have a metadata field in the uploading page that lets you choose a species to list the photo under. If there were multiple species in the photo you could add those species as well. This way when you were looking for a particular species in the media galleries you could go into a taxon list and select "White Rhino" and all photos with White Rhinos or whatever species you were looking for would pop up. Anybody else think is a good idea for those of us who like to search for specific species on the site?

 

I'll have to start doing that.

 

Remember not everybody uses tags on their photos though, so searching by tags won't provide a complete result.

 

You could also search photos by typing the species name in the search bar at the first media page. One of the options is Search Media Only.
