Yes, me too, I think the elephant sculpture has a sort of Picasso line drawing type look to it doesn't it ?

Wow, these are very well done, but yes they are a bit garish aren't they ?

They do have a creepy realism to them though, I think it is something about the posture , looks like they could come alive or something.

Where in the zoo is this? It doesn't look familiar to me at all and I couldn't find it in the gallery.

I have no idea Thylo, have never visited that zoo, just found it in the gallery and thought it was quite a striking sculpture.

Yeah that would be great if you could , would be interesting to see those shots indeed.

Beyond sculptures and just in general terms I think that the Bronx zoo is probably in my opinion the best zoo in the USA.

I found the photo, it's actually from the Brookfield Zoo, not Bronx.

My bad, must have been a typo as the names sound ever so slightly similar.

Interesting Marlin sculpture at the National zoo, USA.

This art was made from plastic trash washed on beaches from the sea and created to raise awareness of human impacts on marine ecosystems:

These were a temporary thing, akin to the lego stuff zoos have been doing. There were a bunch of them.

Yes I thought so , but still they are quite interesting and a really novel way of educating the public on the issue of plastics within marine ecosystems / foodchains.

These are quite beautiful sculptures given the skill and symbolism of these, on display at the Pittsburgh zoo, USA.

These sculptures are made from wire snares collected in African game reserves by local communities and crafted to portray animals often caught in snares:
