Hello "PHILLY FANATIC", you must be a native of Philadelphia.... I began a career in the zoo business at the Philadelphia Zoo way back in 1956 when they had three old Asian Elephants, and while there they acquired a young female African. We worked with her every day at the Children's Zoo and to get her used to being taking for walks around the entire zoo. Named her "Petal" and as you may know when she died a few years ago she was then the oldest African who ever lived in a USA Zoo....Was sorry to hear that the zoo shipped all of their remaining Africans away, guess could not afford to build properly large habitat exhibit areas, what a shame.... My ID is of the NCZoo's male "C'sar" since I now live in North Carolina. Let us hear some interesting news from the Philly Zoo !! Look at my photo website, have some 100 albums on John Roth.
Jambo to all... also NEW to Zoo Chat. Love to hear the latest zoo news. My ID picture is of "C'sar", one of the male African Elephants at the NC Zoo. See enclosed photos...
