Or so they say. Hello everybody, I am Martin from England. Ever since I was young I have had a passion for animals and zoos. When I was younger the health nurse tried to improve my reading by giving me a farm book, but instead I soon switched to a Zoo guide and instead of knowing words like cow or pig, I was going on about Gnus and Yaks! I recently passed my driving test and I am currently making my way around UK Zoo's. I have visited West Midlands Safari Park (4 times), Bristol Zoo and Twycross Zoo. Next week I am going to both Welsh Mountain Zoo (Tuesday) and Chester Zoo (Friday). My passion for animals does not end at the zoo, but in my bedroom. At my home I have 4 African Land Snails, 2 Yellow Bellied Turtles, 1 Hermanns Tortoise, 3 African Pygmy Hedgehogs, 2 Bichon Freise, 6 chickens, 2 ducks, 1 fish, 2 rabbits, a guinea pig and a hamster. My dream is to one day have a private collection of exotic animals. I am 17 years old, and often get a bit of flak for loving zoos but I hope there are a few enthusiasts like me out there who will tell me I am not weird. Have a good day, Martin
Welcome, Martin! A 17 year-old who gets his drivers license so he can visit zoos should be a model not a pariah! Have a great time on the trip.
Welcome Martin , you are far from alone on ZooChat . I am pleased to tell you that once you are 'bitten with the zoo bug' you are unlikely to lose it ! I have been hooked for well over 50 years and still drive around the UK visiting as many zoos as I can !
