New Year's Eve means the annual tot-up of zoo visits for the year and surprisingly I matched 2009 exactly with 82 collections visited (though I did manage four more individual visits than last year, just creeping past the one hundred mark). I found my way to 35 new collections, mostly in the Czech Republic and Germany, bringing my lifetime total to 421. I wonder what adventures 2011 will bring ...

You're way ahead of where I was at your age; I'd probably only seen a couple of dozen places up until my early twenties when I started travelling specifically to see zoos rather than just visiting those that are local to me or happened to coincide with holiday destinations (I've now gone full circle and most holiday destinations are picked purely on the strength of their zoos!).
