Updates from my visit yesterday. Right across the way from the newly open Kangaroo kickabout is going to be a new cassowary exhibit. I had asked a docent what will go in the current cassowary exhibit and he said the director hasnt told them yet but it will be a new animal. The current tiger exhibit is getting a massive redone. doubling the exhibit in size. The zoo had one lone male bontebok in with the damara zebras, eland & Ostrich. The zoo will also be putting Springbok on exhibit. It was a nice zoo. first time visiting and i enjoyed it along with the clouded leopards which i have to say is probably my favorite feline species. It's good to see this zoo growing. Construction will begin on a new entrance on June 1st.
Totally agree ! We gotta wonder why this zoo would waste money on a exhibit which is already a very solid exhibit as well as on the main entrance.Have wondered for awhile when a major expansion will be in Nashville. Team Tapir223

Fundraising goal reached for expansion: Nashville Zoo reaches $10M goal faster than expected (Everything sounded great until I got to the end and they mentioned the dreaded zip lines. Why the zoo world is embracing these obnoxious attractions is beyond my understanding.)
