A few weeks ago a South American tapir was born at Ströhen. The breeding-female herself came from Hagenbeck - Hamburg and because Ströhen didn't have a male, Erlebnis-zoo Hannover lend their male for a while and with succes .

Sadly 19-year old female Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) was euthanised last Friday due to age-related illnesses. She arrived at the zoo from Eifel-Zoo in 2018 after their enclosure was destroyed due to heavy weather. Tierpark Ströhen now has 2 (female ?) Siberian tigers left. Last month atleast 1 Kafue lechwe (Kobus leche kafuensis) was born. At the start of this month female Grant`s zebra (Equus quagga boehmi) Simbala gave birth to a male, sadly she passed away while giving birth.
