    As I assume the snakes are only found in one area, close a railway,
    were a different mirco-climate exists, making it possible for the snakes to breed.

    The article doesn't say anything about possible actions taken.
    As the snake occurs only in a small area, I think it would be possible to
    catch most of them, at least enough to make the population collapse.

    I would've thought a place like Belgium would be to cold for a snake species from Indochina.
