Hallo welcome! I am also called Chris and also new to the forum. We've got sommat in common already ;-)

I went to Edinburgh zoo last October for my 18th and a took a trip to the zoo. It seemed to be rapidly changing- they'd just started work on the new chimp area. I'm very interested to hear about any developments up there- keep us informed please!

In the future the plan is to breed the warty pigs, but they are to young at the moment. Our Warthogs breed last year as we are hoping that are Red River Hogs will breed soon to.

I love red river hogs. I have fed them 3 times at Chester zoo. They can be quite vicious when they want to.I know edinburgh had Bairusa last november. Where did they go and had they bred before the move?

The Barbirusa had not breed and I am not sure where they were moved.

    Hi Bongo

My user name is Bongorob so I guess you like Bongo's too. My real name is Rob and I've been amember of Chester Zoo since 1976.

I've been to Edinburgh twice and hope to visit again soon because I want to see the Japanese macaques, white-lipped deer and Kuhl's deer.

I joined 6 days ago and so far I've enjoyed every minute of my time here.

welcome to the forum, edinburgh zoo would have to be one of my favourite overseas zoos too. when i was there in 05 they were just putting the finshing touches on the african forest exhibit for the bongos and geunons. any pictures of the finshed product would be great. and the savannah boardwalk is superb. in fact, after living for 6 months in london all of edinburgh seemed supurb
