    He intentionally killed an endangered species (wearing a tracking collar) and admits he knew full well what he was doing. And his only sentence is a $2K fine and no jail time? This is appalling. Wildlife laws in the USA and most countries are too lax. Governments need to start enacting and enforcing stiffer sentences if they really want to protect their wildlife.

    Why would someone kill an animal because it is endangered.

    Because he grazes cattle in the area and sees wolves as a threat to his livestock.
