    I guess you can say that about a whole lot of animals with exotic names. For example, with elephants at Taronga, we can call the "watermelon", "prawn", "doll" and the likes but traditional names have been given like "Tang Mo", "Gung" and "Tukta" respectively.

    Baru is also an aboriginal word for crocodile
