For the record, the female owl is called 'Bonnie'.

The dwarf mongooses are now sharing an enclosure with the Rock Hyrax, in order that six banded armadillo can arrive next year:

Exciting news! Always good to get another armadillo species at any place.

Two thin six-banded armadillos, Patsy and Eddie, were named after he characters from the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. They had an over-indulgent festive period and have been put on an improved diet and exercise regime, according to Overweight armadillo twins on post-Christmas diet.

Visited today and definitely had a few births over the last few months of 2021. There were:

    - a Linnaeus’ Sloth (mentioned above)
    - two young mantled guerezas
    - young Sulawesi Macaque

Overall zoo was looking pretty good, must say! New enclosure was under construction outside the water bird aviary. Presumably the incoming bushdogs? Although it did have a roof.. Parma wallabies haven’t departed yet either. Website lists Golden Lion Tamarins and Geoffroy’s Marmosets but must admit I didn’t see them anywhere.

The Geoffroy's Marmosets are no longer at the zoo, their enclosure has been converted into a locker space for the new 'Spark' attraction. Not sure about the Tamarins, I was just there this week but I didn't see them either, they were in with the bats but I don't know whether they still are.

Ah thanks for letting me know! Did wonder what that spark thing was…

Definitely weren’t any tamarins in with the bats, had two of the sloths in there with a baby (believe female). Don’t think the violaceous turaco was in their either tbh
