Dendrobate azureus have recently been hatched at the aquarium 5 species of jellyfish have been bred this year so far.

I'm not sure if they still have hagfish, but if they do I'd recommend that you shut your eyes - those ****ers are ugly! To be serious, shut your eyes to get them well adapted to the dark for the deep sea section, they had chimaeras (rabbit fish) and pinecone fish when I was there last. Alan

According to Facebook, there have been Geoffroy's sideneck turtle eggs discovered on the turtle island of the Amazon tank.
On Facebook there are pictures of The Deep's first young golden mantella, presumably living in the World Rivers section.
The Deep has just announced the birth of 6 Orange Occelate River Stingrays. They are currently being monitored closely in quarantine facilities.
Had a first visit to The Deep today (pictures to follow) and can reveal that two new species will be arriving in 2013... Species one: Amazon Turtle (no subspecies given) will be housed in an exhibit at the back of the Gift Shop which is currently being renovated for them Species two: Gentoo Penguins! They will occupy an indoor exhibit which viewing for is located at the exit of Lagoon of Light (straight ahead as you go down the exit ramp) Overall had a really good visit. Was impressed by the standard of the collection and the facilities. Expect to return once the Penguins arrive
Wow, penguins are a surprise! Hopefully the exhibit will be a bit bigger than London Aqaurium's one. Would love to go back here again in the future.
I was told yesterday (at Sewerby Zoo) there is to be some kind of Amazon exhibit on land across the River Hull and this will include Squirrel Monkeys. Apparently the penguins have arrived and are behind the scenes.
Just some brief news, that the Lagoon exhibit has had a new surge device added and a new species in the form of copper anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor). It's good to see a new marine invertebrate arrive. Also, very interesting news regarding the penguins. I look forward to visiting them sometime in the future. This new exhibit on the other side of the river, will it be part of the Deep, or is it a completely separate attraction being planned?
As far as I am aware it will be part of The Deep. Not having been (I'm not a fish person) I do not know the geography but I was not told there would be a separate admission or anything.

New births recently include unspecified numbers of both Australian white-spotted jellyfish and epaulette cat sharks; also there are currently eleven zebra shark eggs that have been laid (all information from Facebook).
