    • Cincinnati Zoo's Anana and Brookfield Zoo's Nan are denned up for a possible pregnancy.
    • Amelia Gray and Neva are now exhibit at the Maryland Zoo.

    It appears that the Berit at the Henry Vilas zoo may be pregnant. According to the zoo’s Facebook post they did an artificial insemination this past spring.

    0.1 Suka gave birth to a female cub on November 28, 2018 at the Detroit Zoo. Sadly, the unnamed cub passed away on November 30, 2018. The sire was 1.0 Nuka. A neocrospy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.

    The sire of the cub is 1.0 Yelle and it's his first offspring.

    Very sad to hear, but overall, as a geriatric, non breeding pair, not a terribly bad blow for the US population.

    Thirty one year old 0.1 Bam Bam (Fanny) passed away on February 19, 2019 at the Kansas City Zoo.

    The polar bear cub born to 1.0 Marty and 0.1 Crystal on December 9, 2018 at the Toledo Zoo is a male and has been named Borealis.

    The polar bear cub born to 1.0 Yelle and 0.1 Aisaqvak on November 27, 2018 at the Saint Félicien Zoo is a male. Also, the polar bear cub born to 1.0 Yelle and 0.1 Milak on December 11, 2018 at the Saint Félicien Zoo is a male.

    In addition to the announcement of the cubs' genders, the Saint Félicien Zoo has announced the naming contest for their polar bear cubs: Contest! It's official the two cubs are male! - Saint Félicien Zoo | Facebook. The public can submit two name suggestions in the comment section of the Saint Félicien Zoo's Facebook page.

    The North American population now consists of 69 (34.35) polar bears.

    1.0 Eddie and 0.1 Taiga have moved to Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat while their exhibit gets some renovations.

    Still, I'd just expect them to have multiple pairs since they're probably in the best position in the US to breed more bears.
