    It is very interesting for me, to know the demography for zoo animals, is it also for you?
    In this thread, some numbers for elephants and rhinos in zoos and in circuses (elephants) on a continental level (but not always all continents considered). The numbers are not very or totaly accurate as for today, but are close to the accurate number. Any corrections, highly welcomed. Any discussions normaly also highly welcomed, as this is one goal for all of this fun-and-education on Zoochat. So let, start:

    -African bush elephant: Europe 350 (90 in circuses); North America 250 (60 in circuses); Asia 50;
    -Asian elephant: Europe 520 (170 in circuses); North America 380 (150 in circuses); Asia 150; Australasia (30?);

    -Southern white rhinoceros: Europe 280; North America 200; Asia 160; Australasia 50; Africa 40; South America 15;
    -Black rhinoceros (Eastern): Europe 80; North America 80 (+30 South Central); Asia: 30
    -Indian rhinoceros: Europe 70; North America 80; Asia: 60 (India 45, Japan 9-10);
