Ocean World is a small aquarium in Crescent City, California. It's so small that this species list will only be a single post, but I felt like making this anyway. It's a very small facility but my visit was enjoyable, nonetheless.
I knew this place had several pinnipeds but didn't realize that's nearly all they had. What an odd aquarium.
I was very surprised to see fur seals on this list. Any idea how many? It would seem that they maybe should be included in the genetic pool for the other aquariums trying to sustain a captive population.
I don't know how many they hold, but the only other places that permanently keep them are Mystic and Seattle. The rescues on the Pacific coast sometimes have them.
After conducting further research I'm pretty confident in the following... The Anthopleura sea anemone was giant green anemone (Anthopleura xanthogrammica) The chiton was gumboot chiton (Cryptochiton stelleri) And the sea lemon was Monterey sea lemon (Doris montereyensis)
