    Yep, the press initially referred to the cub as male and ZSL only announced her true sex some months later. She died pretty young- her mate 'Ulla' and both( I think) her parents 'Ivy' & 'Mishka' outlived her. I can't remember if I was taken to see her as a cub- more likely the next year or so but I did see her a number of times.

    However, I don't remember 'Jumbo' the elephant...;)

    Hey Zoo Boy it was interesting to see that the five oldest elephants in your link were all EM...

    Snorkel the Hippo at Auckland Zoo is either already 50 or turning 50 later this year, I think if she lasts another 5 years or so she'll pushing the record...
