Once aviaries do happen, I'd like to see a huge bird pack with species from each continent from past DLC represented, so for instance:
    - Snowy Owl
    - Green-winged Macaw
    - Blue and Yellow Macaw
    - Rainbow Lorikeet
    - Laughing Kookaburra
    - Bali Starling
    - African Grey Hornbill
    - Bald Eagle
    - Eurasian Eagle Owl
    - Barn Owl

It probably won't be that large or extensive, but those are the species I'd like to see the most once we get birds in the game.

    - Sand Cat

My guess on the "Freshwater pack" has three species appear on the coming Wetland pack LOL. The Frontier surprisingly makes the Lechwe.

With more animals available in the game, it's trickier to decide how I'd sort the animals I want into new DLC! But I'll try!

Urban Wildlife showcases wildlife commonly found in urban environments around the world. This pack will also include an urban building theme featuring architecture and decor inspired by New York City.

    - White tailed deer
    - Grey langur
    - North American opossum
    - Cape baboon
    - European herring gull (walkthrough exhibit species)

Folklore showcases animals that prominently featured in popular folklore and myth.

    - Japanese raccoon dog
    - Coyote
    - Cape hare
    - Eurasian wild boar
    - Mute swan
    - Common raven (walkthrough exhibit species)
    - King cobra (exhibit species)

Birds is pretty much just an excuse to fill out the walkthrough exhibit roster. But there will be habitat species too.

    - Secretary bird
    - Greater rhea
    - Shoebill stork
    - Scarlet macaw (walkthrough. If Frontier is feeling generous, they can recolor it into the military macaw and blue and gold macaw to really fill out the roster without a lot of extra work)
    - Snowy owl (walkthrough)
    - Black-headed weaver (walkthrough)
    - Rainbow lorikeet (walkthrough)
    - Harpy eagle (walkthrough)
    - Hooded vulture (walkthrough)
    - Toco toucan (walkthrough)
    - Eurasian eagle owl (walkthrough)

    Pekin duck
    Brown pelican

I've decided to make my own DLC's for the next 3 years! I'll post a year at a time, so as not to be too exhausting. So, without further ado, here's the DLC packs I wish to see for next year.

    10-04-23 Avian animal pack
    Free update:
    • Free-flying habitat animals (greater flamingo and crowned crane included)
    • Some free-flying habitat animals (waterbirds especially) can be wing-clipped.
    • New fencing type: aviary (automatically climb-proof)
    • Aviaries can house flying exhibit animals too (fruit bats, butterflies, birds, etc.)

    New animals:
    • Bald eagle
    • Dalmatian pelican
    • Saddle-bill stork
    • Hyacinth macaw
    • Great Indian hornbill
    • Snowy owl
    • Sulphur-crested cockatoo

      • Javan green magpie (WT)
      • Blue dacnis (WT)
      • Amazilia hummingbird (WT)

    20-06-23 Underground pack
    Free update:
    • New exhibit; 8x4m; allows for larger populations of some exhibit animals. Those suitable for 4x4m enclosures are eligible for this type too, and this allows for higher populations. They also look more detailed, the yellow anaconda getting a sizeable pool, for example.

    • 8x4m enclosures allow for SOME species to be mixed (eg. Both types of dart frogs)
New theme: Metropolitan (reminiscent of art deco)

    New animals:
    • African crested porcupine
    • Eurasian wild boar
    • Burrowing owl
    • Patagonian mara
      • Naked mole rat (only suitable for 4x8m exhibit)
      • Leafcutter ant (4x4m exhibit); instead of individuals, you buy a whole colony at a time.

    10-10-23 Tropical animal pack
    Free update:
    • New, biome-based climbing structures (more natural-looking, overgrown)
    New animals:
    • Keel-billed toucan
    • Ocelot
    • Painted batagur
    • Mexican spider monkey
    • Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
    • Mantled guereza

    12-12-23 Alpine pack

JigerofLemuria's post brought me to another question:

What should be the first 8(!) species in a first Avian Animal DLC?
    (hope, that will upcoming soon)

    Here are mine:
1 Bald eagle (probably most iconic bird of prey species)
2 Species of pelican (prefered Great white, would fit for many exhibits)
3 Species of geese (prefered Egyptian)
4 Species of humming bird (any)
5 Species of guinea fowl (prefered helmeted)
6 Species of weaver bird (any)
7 Species of macaw (prefered Hyazinth)
    8 Snowy Owl

Strong contender: scarlet ibis, toco tucan, andean condor, great indian hornbill, laughing kookaburra, mandarin duck, tropical starling specie, tropical pigeon/dove specie.

Explanations: These birds are either very popular or would complete perfectly already existing zoogeographical areas (specially Africa and Arctic).

Right now, there's three DLC packs that I could logically see being made.

    1. The Aviary Pack. Lets face it, there's been hints of this dropping everywhere, with Frontier having two different walkthrough exhibits with flying animals. They're clearly trying to see what they can get away with. I don't think we're going to get a pack full of free-flying birds...probably four species that could work in a standard habitat (the Secretary Bird could finally get a look-in?) and then maybe four as a walkthrough?
    2. The Mountain Animal Pack. I'm saying mountain specifically because it's really the only habitat left that either hasn't been made as a pack or has had a lot of options covered in the base game. Southeast Asia is effectively rainforest, Europe is temperate forest, Africa is desert, Arctic is tundra...you get the idea. There's still a few open options for a mountain-related pack, or at the very least an extreme climate one.
    3. The Island Pack. Because, well, where else are we going to stick the much requested Tasmanian Devil, or seemingly cut Lord Howe's Island Stick Insect?
