Female Asiatic lion, Ginni underwent an Artificial Insemination last week: Prague zoo hopes rare lion insemination sows seed for survival
Probably 3 or 2 brown hyenas left. In other news, the zoo has got some new birds recently. Orange-breasted fig parrots and Madagascar crested Ibises from Walsrode bird park, male Marabou from Rotterdam zoo, Salvadori's fig-parrots from private breeder, another pair of Lear's macaws from Loro Park.
Whenever the new Australian exhibit opens unless there have been further delays since I visited in September. Most birds are likely already in the building at this point. ~Thylo

Our Head of Zoological department already made last pre-Brexit transport from Britain and I don't think that water frogs were on the list.
Not so much active as relatively visible when myself and @ThylacineAlive visited last September the single animal we saw was just lying in the middle of the enclosure! This was pretty early though - about an hour or two after opening...
I went straight too the brown hyaena on opening and it was active. Be prepared for a strenuous walk up a steep hill though. (I think there is a chair lift but I don't like heights so half killed myself speed walking up the hill). Get there at opening time too, you need at least a day to see the zoo.
As Ned accurately points out - it’s a big zoo so be there for opening! The Indonesian Pavilion, and giant salamander and Africa by Night houses are fantastic...to be honest I would say just try and get the whole zoo done if possible! Myself and Thylo started with the top half of the zoo, then once we had done that made our way down the winding path down the hill (past their native herp enclosures and their fig parrot/lorikeet aviaries) to the bottom of the zoo. Then we worked our way from the front to the back, starting with the lemur walkthrough, fur seal enclosure and songbird aviaries and finishing with the big cat house, shoebill enclosure and goat exhibits Should mention - in the lower half of the zoo there is a reptile house (called Terarium I think) which is in the middle of a playground - if reptiles aren’t your thing then that’s fine but that spot slips by a lot of folks! And final tip - they don’t (or at least didn’t when we visited) hand out maps so take a photo of the map of the zoo at or near the entrance of the zoo and use that to guide you! Have fun - it’s easily the best zoo I have visited in Europe
