Hello everyone. Yesterday I visited the Lincoln Park zoo, and I discovered something new. The zoo is now holding Puerto Rican parrots in the small mammal/reptile complex (For some reason). I was quite surprised to see this as you could imagine. Is the Lincoln park zoo the only mainland zoo holding these birds, and if not, what others are?
@pachyderm pro: The species profile on Lincoln Park's website says that the two males are indeed the first Puerto Rican parrots on the mainland since at least the 1970's. LPZ has been assisting USFWS with population management expertise for the species. Puerto Rican Parrot | Lincoln Park Zoo Protecting the Puerto Rican Parrot | Lincoln Park Zoo
