This thread is dedicated to the arrival of individuals from species that are kept at no or less than ten instituitions in europe. For example the arrival of little penguins at weymouth (sealife) or some rare bird species at amneville new wombats at duisburg new babirusa at jihlava... It would be really nice if some friendly people would help to reappraise the list for the past since everybody has their local or familliar list of zoos to look up on zoochat Thanks

Every person that reads this is welcomed to add the newest arrivals of rare species within european zoological gardens Not everyone of us reads every chat/thread So this could be a nice solution for those who just missed something or lack time (maybe even interest) Thanks
This thread was made for Hamerton! Around 15 species or sub species of mammal and birds that are the only ones in the UK and of those several are the only ones in Europe too:Ringtail possum, tiger Quoll, rufous bettong, the new Cassowary, barking owl, etc Check Zootierliste for the whole list
Lake Titicaca Frog at Prague Zoo (as at other 10 or so zoos in Europe). The import was from Denver Zoo (US) to make backup population for this species. Amazing animals and I am happy for this rarity.
Bochum papageienpark had imported Guaiabero parrots from BII in Phillipines. This is probably the first time they are present in Europe.
Squirrel gliders arrived at Hamerton at the end of July, went on show 3rd of August. The first in Europe since the 1960s.
