    They're down a single female. She moved to Zoo Erfurt on Thursday to join a breeding group. In the longer term, Elephants will return to Sigean in a mixed Savannah exhibit

    The baby rhino is a male, not a female. He has just been called Ringo.

    On March 11th, a family of 5 cheetahs left to a Dutch zoo and another family of 6 cheetahs that also lived at the zoo was relocated to the exhibit.

    Yes, I just checked ... it is an all change. A lone female named Kianga was sent on breeding loan to Sigean and in return the female Asali with her four cubs 1,3) were sent to ZPO to free up space in the reserve.

    5 African Openbills arrived in March of this year from a zoo in Eastern Europe. They were born in 2019.

    Also, according to the Mother's Day FB post several Wildebeest calves have been born.

    This means Prague zoo because nobody else in "Eastern Europe" had 5 chicks last year.

    Some recent births :
    - two meerkats in may,
    - four Cuvier's gazelles in may,
    - two Defassa waterbucks in june and july,
    - five Cape elands,
    - fourteen springboks during the last four months.

    Other intersting news :
    - opening of a viewing plateform onto the giant savannah (18 hectares) in the pedestrian area,
    - opening of the new reptiles house focus on Africa and Madagascar with four-horned chamelons, Parson's chameleon, Nile monitors, slender-snouted crocodiles, dwarf crocodiles, dumeril's boas, malagasy tree boas, royal python.

    Arrival of red river hogs, new species for the zoo.
    They can be seen in the pedestrian area.
