Wolfgang Suschitzky, one of the greatest photographers to work in a zoo, died recently in London at the age of 104. He came to London in the 1930s as a refugee, and took photos of many subjects - but his photos taken at London Zoo, particularly of Guy the gorilla, were especially fine. They were used as illustrations in many books and publications. He was also a noted cinematographer on films such as Get Carter, and on TV series including Worzel Gummidge.
His obituary in The Guardian is on-line at https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2016/oct/07/wolfgang-suschitzky-obituary
There is a small selection of his photos at Lumiere Blog Archive Wolf Suschitzky
