Sea Lion Sound is set to open on June 30, looks like it will be a fantastic exhibit. Sea Lion Sound at Saint Louis Zoo Opens June 30 - Clayton-Richmond Heights, MO Patch
Article says they received five sea lions from San Antonio Zoo. I was at San Antonio Zoo twice over the last year and they do NOT have sea lions. What is going on here? Did they mean Sea World San Antonio?

I am heading out on Wednesday and maybe on Thursday to the zoo and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips for the visit or if there are also any photo requests anyone has.
Some photos of Sea Lion Sound would be great. Thanks and have a good time.If you get there early enough you could park on the street in front of the zoo for free. Team Tapir
Thanks for the tip. What would you say is the hotspot of the zoo? To me is seems that Rivers Edge is the best area.
Rivers Edge is a very cool area.To give you another St Louis has one of the best Penguin exhibits around.St louis has an outdoor spot for its Humbolts and a indoor walk through which houses Gentoo,Rockhopper and King Penguin. You are so close to the penguins you could actually touch them which of course you cannot do which is why they station volunteers throughout the exhibit to watch that everyone behaves themselves. From my unbiased opinion (having zero personnel experience with any US zoo) it definitely seems impressive but I just thought it was odd they would advertise themselves in such a way. I can't wait for your photos btw.
Thank you very much. I think after what you see (a photo of almost every exhibit) you won't even have to visit.
I hate to say but SLZ is far greater than both Columbus and Cincinnati. All the exhibits were great, even the grottoes are horrifyingly ugly, the reptile and bird houses have to be the best of their kinds, the penguin area is an amazing experience, the children's zoo was very unique and unusual, and I could go on forever. I have a couple of points though, the primate house, even though I know it is historically old, I wish the exhibits both indoor and out would be redone. Also many of the exhibit area names are kind of copied off of other zoos. Like Rhino Reserve, Lords of the Forest (Arctic), the first section of the insectarium is called "What is an Insect?", Fragile Forest, but I could care less really. I have been told twice now that the zoo is/was based off of Cincinnati, is this true. A comparison or just a plain review will be up when I get the chance.
