Sadly the male Yellow-backed duiker (Cephalophus silvicultor) passed away last Wednesday died under anesthesia. He arrived from Gladys Porter Zoo last year and was the only Yellow-backed duiker in Zoo Schwerin. There are now only 3 zoos in Europe that keep this species. Since monday the rhino girl is on display. And also the lion kittens can be watched at the "Rote Liste Zentrum". In additon there is a Goeldi's marmoset kit at the "Humboldt Haus".

They have recently been sexed, a male and a female. Sadly the other young passed away on the 4th of September. The pathological examination revealed hemorrhagic enteritis (bloody inflammation of the intestine), erosive-ulcerative gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) and low-grade pneumonia (inflammation of the lungs).
