hello all friends zoo Skansen's zoo has begun to build new children's zoo called lo fort which will be inaugurated in March 2012. Wednesday 6 October, it was finally time to take the very first steps taken in the construction of new Lill-Skansen! Skansen director John Brattmyhr assistance of many happy kindergartner. Thanks to a sponsorship agreement between Skansen and the Stockholm Consumer Cooperative Society, we can now finally give the animals and visitors at Lill-Skansen larger and more modern facilities. Since 1955, millions of visitors to come to Lill-Skansen's animals - but only in the summer. The new Lill-Skansen will be open year round. The new facility will be located in the same area as the current Lill-Skansen. Here, children will come in contact with Nordic animals, pets and small domestic animals. Construction is expected to take place in October 2010. The total land surface area is 5400 sqm, in the same area as today's Lill-Skansen. The total building area under roof is 1100 square meters.
