We've got a lot of discussion about the possibilities that CITES is over-listing certain species, e.g. the COP19 debate around live trade in elephants and the pre-existing and seemingly eternal debate over legal ivory sales and moving certain Southern African populations to Appendix II.

But are there any species that you think are being under-protected or ignored by CITES? Something that should be Appendix I but is only on II or III? Or something that isn't listed at all but should be?

How can be the bushy-tailed opossum be classified as Least Concern if under 25 specimens are known? Surely it should be classified at least as Data Deficient.
