Sorry, I forgot to read the rules, and just jumped into it like it was still the Fantasy Zoo forum

That’s all right, I missed the new rules at first, but got alerted when a thread I was on was closed down.

Your old one or the new one you started that didn't meet the new requirements?

Neither, it was a challenge I was doing.

I'll miss the old Fantasy Zoos forum. If I would have known that I would have worked to get my last challenge done. Sigh.

I actually prefer the new one, it's much cleaner and most of all realistic, more than half of those that were just roleplays and listing a bunch of animals were dead within the first week of their creation, while with the new guidelines it's almost guaranteed thar the creator of the thread will continue it

I agree. For the first time in a long time I feel like I can actually contribute to this section - in fact I've been considering starting a thread!

Some of the games were not to my liking but I did like some of the other threads on it. Like anything new, it will just take a little getting used to.

Same - I'm working on creating a thread currently, I haven't actually made something of my own in the subforum since Zoo Community ended during the summer.

I don’t think there is a specific thread for that but you can just read through all the threads that are in the subforum currently, all those should meet the requirements and you can use them for inspiration. Some examples of well done fantasy zoos are KevinB, Haliaeetus, and Gomphothere’s threads. Amurleopard has also begun working on one so keep an eye on his thread, as well.

There isn't currently no, though that might be a good idea to put together; tips and tricks, do's and don'ts, figuring out relative realism on species lists and maps. I wouldn't mind starting that off, but I'd want some collaboration from other people that are producing realistic style zoos, what do you think @amur leopard @KevinB @Haliaeetus @Gomphothere @Breckenridge ?

At least for now check out zoos by aforementioned people, it’s a good place to start.

I actually just started working on a fantasy zoo project yesterday, I was inspired after reading through all those threads and wanted to try making my own as I have actually never really posted any content in this subforum. A thread like that would be very helpful as I continue to work on my zoo! :)

The only thing I can really think of is the "Mixed species exhibit ideas" thread, where you can look for help and opinions on which animal combinations and mixed exhibits might work or not, and which ones would be realistic or not.

I'm willing to help out with such a thread to an extent, but I would need somewhat more concrete information on what would be expected of me as a contribution to said thread.

Pretty straightforward, things like references you use on a regular basis, how you determine the realism, sharing some process in how you make maps and figure out zoo design. Just things you've found helpful and might help others in designing their fantasy zoos. How much you contribute would be entirely up to you, I just wanted to extend that to you since you do some great work on your ideas. :)
