I've been there, it's wonderful. Saw quite a few wild birds there as well including Magpie Robin and Java Sparrow. I'd upload some photos if I could work out how to.

Some more information about the release on July 15 ( from FB ) :

"Today is a momentous day for Talarak Foundation, and Philippine wildlife, as it marks our first, and hopefully not the last, release of our captive bred Visayan Spotted Deer and Visayan Warty Pigs.
Henry Pryde Teves, Mayor of Bayawan City, has been instrumental in helping us develop the Danapa Nature Reserve, where we released one group of young male warty pigs, and one group of young male spotted deer.
These animals are pioneers for their species, being the first groups to be released back into the forest they once called home. They will bring about a new dynamic of research, and repopulate these species in the environment they should belong in. With the accompanying education and enforcement programs announced by Mayor Teves, this creates a new world, and new Negros, for our endangered and endemic wildlife!
We would like to thank Mayor Teves, the Bayawan City council, the Bayawan LGU department heads, the local barangay captains, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the local community and all of our esteemed guests that were present at this special occasion. We are proud to make history with all of you and hope our relationship only grows stronger as the Danapa Nature Reserve does.
This project would not be possible without the local support we have received, or our fantastic partners abroad. A huge thank you goes out to Synchronicity Earth, ZGAP, Chester Zoo, Bristol Zoo Gardens, Wildlife Reserves Singapore, Zoo Liberec, Heidelberg Zoo, Plzen Zoo, Stichting Wildlife, Zoo Planckendael, Ocean Park Conservation Fund Hong Kong and our private donors. You have not only supported us but given us the ability to fulfill these important missions for Negros' endemic wildlife."

A total of 9 warty pigs and 12 spotted deer were released :).

First batch of Visayan tarictic hornbills released into the wild :) ( from FB ) :

"We at Talarak Foundation, alongside the Local Government of Bayawan City, have released our first batch of Visayan Tarictic hornbills into the Danapa Nature Reserve! We want to thank all our international partners for supporting and guiding us along the way. Without all of us working together, this dream would never have been possible.
Some people have had the fortune of seeing these hornbills out in the wild, hopping from branch to branch while eating fruit. We know a little about our beautiful hornbills and have had success breeding and keeping them in captivity. Still, we know relatively little of their behavior in the wild and remaining numbers. Where do they go? How large an area does each Visayan Tarictic hornbill occupy? Do they have territories? Now we can find out the answers to these questions by observing and tracking our released Tarictics so that this species can be better protected."

The vision of rewilding and reintroduction projects for some of the Visayas most endangered wildlife is finally taking off. Now also, Visayas tarictic hornbills released. Talarak Foundation sure has a big hand in all this!

According to their FB post, the Negros Forest Park has received damage from fallen trees during typhoon Odette but all animals and staff are ok. Their breeding station in Kabankalan suffered both from fallen trees and 2-meter flooding from nearby river and all their insfrastructure is damaged and they also lost part of their animals including hornbills.
