Dunia Air Tawar acquired two species: Golden dorado (Salminus brasiliensis) and Chinese warty newt (Paramesotriton chinensis). The dorado is still small and live in a aquarium located near the arowana aquariums. While for the newt, it lived in a China-themed aquarium alongside a pair of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and gold barb (Barbodes semifasciolatus). Photo source:
The dorado looks hella lonely. Maybe TMII could acquire some tankmates for it when it outgrow its exhibit. I hope that this tank will be used for an African arowana, since that species disappeared from DAT/DS since 2017.
