The first public statement regarding the impact to zoos of Brexit. Brexit fears raised by Bristol Zoo
I don't believe anything written about Brexit in the Daily Mail or any Associated Newspapers publication. For the sake of the farming industry more than for zoos, I am sure that the 'Great Repeal Bill' (sic) will ensure that UK animal health regulations will continue to be harmonised with those of the EU.
http://www.theguardian.com/environm...how-to-move-an-elephant-to-europe-post-brexit This article discusses some of the potential issues with moving animals to/from Europe post-Brexit.
This paper focuses on farm animals, but may be of interest. McCulloch, S. (2018). Brexit and Animal Protection: Legal and Political Context and a Framework to Assess Impacts on Animal Welfare. Animals, 8(11), 213.
I've only read the a abstract, maybe I should read the whole paper but it does seem like an exercise of stating the obvious.
Project fear as been going on since the vote was taken well to be honest it was going on before the vote. Many people fear this and that without knowing the facts as no deal as been struck between the UK and the EU I can't see why people are projecting their views not knowing what is happening.
People "projecting their views not knowing what is happening" sums up the whole problem of Brexit very neatly.
I just remember the millennium bug was a lot of fuss about nothing. Supposed experts predicted flight being grounded, intensive care units being closed and cash machines breaking down but nothing changed. I wonder if Brexit will be similar.
