And were back for the second annual thread of the year competition.

As we approach yet another new year its time to reflect on how this site has grown within this past year, specifically, some of the brilliant threads that have been contributed by users as of late. Last year our reigning champion @CGSwans took to crown for thread of the year. And with another highly enjoyed thread that received much attention earlier this year, there is a good chance he could have streak begin, but can he be topped?

A refresher on how to vote. The rules are very similar to last year. Between now and the midnight of December 15th, post the names the three threads that you think should be a candidate for thread of the year on this thread. Please put both the title and name of the user that created the thread. You may not submit your own thread to be nominated.

Then when the submissions have concluded, the top five threads that received the most nominations will be entered into a poll (In the case of a tie, I will break it). Whichever thread has the most votes on midnight December 31st is the winner of the 2018 zoochat thread of the year. While you may not be able to submit your own thread, if your thread is nominated you are allowed to vote in favor it.

Best of luck and vote wisely! :)

Hard to believe it’s december already! It feels quick considering I used the website far less than I should’ve...well, at least I have a New Years resolution! :p But no nomination :(

Oh wow time really flew! My confusion will be that I did not discover the thread until this year at that point it was only a couple pages long.

Question: Can I vote for the entire Zoo Decisions Thread?

Can you be specific which one?
No, but you can cast your votes towards three different parts of the series.

And a very honourable mention for the latest @snowleopard expedition, Snowleopard's 2018 Road Trip, in which a whole load of truly appalling zoos were visited and lovingly described. For those who didn’t follow this thread, I’d especially recommmend this post, which sums up the glorious experience of it all:

    I concur on Snowleopard's 2018 road trip.

(I can't think of any others off the top of my head)

@lintworm with his Europe's 50 must see zoos is my pick, I enjoyed seeing updates to that thread!

There seems to be a slight a misunderstanding. The intent is for you to vote for three different threads to be nominated, not just one. So one of the three could be the thread you just mentioned, but you must also select two other threads that you think deserve a chance.
That's technically four votes, can you please remove one to bring I down to three.

All right, tough choice but snowleopard has to go. I sympathised with Sooty and his football failings too much not to vote for him, and LD did have a fantastic trip and lots of fantastic species... Sorry SL, I apologise profusely! :(

I'm very pleased that you consider my travel stories the antithesis to that particular video. I do hope that everyone who I've spoken to about my travels feels the same!
