There is a newish male Arctic wolf named Imiq, and two male Arctic foxes named Tempête and Orage (Orage is not nearly as white at the moment). All came from Parc Safari.

If this has already been reported and I missed it, apologies.

It all has in another thread for births deaths and transfers we seem to have missed adding there names on the name thread. I'll update the list in the spring once the gorilla infant is named.

So I was alerted by my brother that the Wolf cubs are named Claire, Jamie, Murtagh, Dougal, Angus and Rupert

They're also going to be leaving the zoo to Zoo Sauvage de Saint-Felicien

The golden lion tamarin infant is a female named Carrie.

Once the red river hoglets are named I'll post the updated list.

If anyone has any additions that would be very welcomed. Any one who needs to be removed is also very much appreciated. I know there must be changes needed in particular to the kids zoo but I just dont know who needs to be removed. I think it's now the lists weakest area.

    Just some corrections...

For the Tahr, Mitch died. There's another male (people call him Sue for some reason, but definitely male).
Gui is still there, but kept in with the girls because he's being bullied by the other boys, as he's going blind.

For the P-horses, Phoenix is with Natalia, Valeria, Chilka, and Alex(andrea). Winnie and Winona, from Calgary, are off with Dudley breeding. Ghengis is with I believe Naghai because she doesn't get along with Valeria at all.

There's only one male Yak in the large herd, St. Hubert. I'm not aware of any other male currently.

The male Ostrich is being called Omelette by most people. I know the keepers were waffling between a few different names.

1.0 Tur with the females is Turnip
6.0 Tur in Eurasia Wilds with the Przewalskis and Yaks are Turbo, Turminator, Turnado, Turricane, Turvin, and . . . Chaps.

1.1 African Spoonbills are Steve and Knobby Knees. I heard this because they have been nest-building, and have laid eggs but don't know the status of the eggs.

    0.1 Lynx kitten is Hamilton

The western grey kangaroo joey (Tori's joey) is a male (confirmed by keeper). Unfortunately, I forgot the name, although it was mentioned.

Wow the kangaroo joey has been saddled with a terrible name Mr. Partington. I don't even see a cute nick name in that.

My understanding is that he was named after a longtime kangaroo keeper at the zoo.

Oh if that's the case then I can deal with it better. Interesting they didn't go for the first name. I wish they would sometimes tell us why they used a name. If that's the reason that would be an even nicer way to pay tribute to the keeper.

Mr Partington was born around long-time Australasia keeper Dave Partington's retirement and he was particularly fond of the kangaroos.

The Arctic Wolf Cubs were named several months back - 1.3 - Irniq, Nuna, Anori, Inneq.

Reticulated Pythons are now called Fifi and Pierre.

Only 3 sibling meerkats remain, but I don't know which.

The Red River hogs born in November are Sir Philip Dennis Pigglesworth IV and Mr Kevin Pigglesworth Esq, known as Dennis and Kevin.

    Blue-bellied Roller is Leslie (1.0)

Radiated Tortoises are Duke, Violet, Hannibal and Miss Moo Moo.

Bennett's Wallaby - the two males who arrived last fall are Darwin and Wallace.

The Kids Zoo has a Lanner Falcon named Cere (1.0), and a Peregrine Falcon named Lando (1.0)

Hi all. Been awhile since I've been active here, moved out of the GTA to London 3 years back, but have been missing the zoo a lot lately and while I can't visit right now, I can at least participate until it's safe to go and get a membership again.

All of the old Ferrets have passed away and were "replaced" with the new group we saw on the Facebook Live

Bald Eagle-Wambli (M) passed away nearly 5 years ago, they tore down the entrance aviary pretty quickly after his death.

Turkey Vulture-Bill (M) also passed away a few years ago according to one of the live stream (he was a quirky bird, hated men and anyone with red hair)

Ground Hornbill-Henry (M) was often called "old man" when I did my placement, and am pretty confident Henry has since passed (when they talked about him they mentioned having 2-3 more years with him)

Lama-Savanah Liz (F) passed away some time ago in Eurasia according to the Kid's Zoo Hoofstock walk live stream they did, and Scooter (M) is classified as an alpaca on the list but is a Lama

West Caucasian Tur- Elani (F)-Orange Left Ear tag, Michelle (F), Pauline (F), Tori (F)-twisted horn, Turmini (F), Turnip (M), Turin (F), Atana (F), Chaps (M), Destiny (F)-Double Blue ear tags

Welcome back Sealife357! Glad someone else is keeping up with names thanks to the live streams. I sometimes multitask and could miss things. I have updated the master list accordingly. I had removed and added all but one already. Not that I mind the help. In fact I get excited to look over changes because I know there are some species massively out of date or that I don't have names for yet. Loving the live streams because they are really helping me to update. My whole tur list just exploded. I replaced all the ferrets as I assume I should with the rats. I have learned lots of reptile names. So much fun.

I assume the hornbill Henry you mentioned is Abyssinian ground hornbill Henry not wrinkled hornbill Henry. He was significantly older. He was still alive as of the last SSP in Feb 2019. He had even been given a breeding rec which was then declined when they zoo let them know of a health problem in both hornbills (both were to get mates). While he is getting older there are definitely a number of birds older than him and the oldest recorded male lived to be 37 years old. He could have a while yet on him. Did you hear from someone he's passed?

I will be reposting the master list eventually but with all the live streams and the big changes some days bring I want to wait until maybe just after the zoo reopens. I will be interested to see at that time if the live streams keep going. Fingers crossed yes.

    Wambli is still alive.
Mikisi lived in the courtyard aviary.

@LDTZ I had thought so. Wambli lives again on my list! Thanks for the correction. This is what I love about all of us working on a list. Gives us a chance to double check info.

Whoops, @LDTZ is correct, I got my birds mixed up after I checked my notes from my placement.

@TZFan Thank you for the warm welcome. I've been loving the live streams so much, I actually moved my lunch so I could watch without any distractions from work. Yes, Abyssinian Henry, was the one I was mentioning. During my placement they made him sound 25+, the then Supervisor helped train him and she's been at the zoo for 20 plus years, but if he's still on the SSP, he must still be kicking. Was it Duale they also recommend to breed or one of the Savannah group?

@Sealife357 so happy to welcome you back.

The supervisor was just wrong about Henry. The studbook contains his hatch date June 6 1994 at the Avicultural Breeding & Research Center in Loxahatchee, Florida. His parents are recorded as well so his history isn't or shouldn't be a case of guessing as it would be if he had been wild born. He could have died since the start of 2019 but I think someone would have heard something about it. Duale is younger hatching April 24, 2001 at Dallas Zoo. When the 2019 SSP came out both birds were to be given mates in the Draft. Henry was to go to Baltimore to breed with an 11 year old female. Duale was to be joined here by an 8 year old male from Memphis. Since neither of ours have breed they were considered genetically valuable pairings. However between the draft and final SSP the zoo contacted them back and said neither were medically fit to breed. What those health issues are? I have zero clue.

Our southern ground hornbills are still to breed as far as I know. They have had successful chicks every year since 2017. As founder stock they are likely to be allowed to breed more in the coming years.

Great hornbill, Jonah, will never breed sadly. He is deemed to aggressive to be allowed near a female.

Wrinkled hornbill, Henry, has no genetically appropriate mates in the AZA but if the zoo had wanted they could have asked for the AZA to arrange a mate from Europe. Unfortunately the SSP is 2 years old so it appears the zoo wasn't interested or some sort of deal fell through. Hard to say on that front.

Our former Von der decken hornbill, Francine, just had a clutch in LA. Just thought I would round out the hornbill info.
