Hi guys, I need your help for an upcoming trip to Texas. It`s my first visit there ever.

I am going to Dallas this August with my partner. Since it`s a business trip for him, I will have a lot of free time to explore the area by myself. I will have a car. I am planning a visit to the Dallas and Fort Worth Zoo, but I´d also like to do some wildlife watching/birding. Are there any good walks/ nature parks/ birding areas within driving distance from Dallas? I am also open to join guided tours if there is anything interesting to see.
I guess it will be too hot for serious hiking?

I`d be super happy if anyone has ideas for me! Thank you!

August in Texas? Be prepared for sweltering heat. Wildlife viewing will be minimal. Plan on finishing outdoors stuff by 10am or before. PM me for more info.
