Could anyone tell me when was the last time jaguars were born and where as I am curious that there has been no breeding for a while. Also can I be extra greedy and ask for the list of collections that currently keep them .

    thank you

Successfully, I believe that Dartmoor were the last place to breed them in 2004. I believe the cubs from this litter are now at WHF/Paradise.

As listed above, Amazona, Chester, Edinburgh, Paradise/WHF, South Lakes, Thrigby and Wingham.

I believe so. Chester's pair have been together since February 2013 where as South Lakes' pair have been together since 2010.

Isle of wight zoo's jaguar died last year and as I recall, they had not idea how old it was, but conservative estimates but it at over 23.
She was used in a bond film.

They still had a Jaguar when I visited mid-May.

Chiquita was the jaguar that died at Isle of Wight Zoo, but they still have a female called Tequila (there are now two coatis in what was the second jaguar enclosure).

Dartmoor also had a Jag, but he died last month.

Your right, IOW did have two but I only ever saw one in all the times I went there, but IOW have no plans to breed anything at any time.

I believe Edinburgh have always had the intention of breeding their Jaguars. IIRC there was an issue with the previous female having been an ex-circus animal, and having no canine teeth(?), making it difficult for her to defend herself if things got rough.

The new female is younger, but they have been observed calling to each other.

Indeed; I believe the delay is merely a case of waiting for the new female to get a little older.
