Vancouver Aquarium raised $1.6 million via the sale of more than 100,000 face masks. Extraordinary! The aquarium clearly has massive public support and is here to stay. I ordered a mask myself and I'm proud to support the organization. https://theprovince.com/sports/socc...p-the-dollars-for-local-organizations-in-need
A new sea otter pup named Joey will be joining the 6 adult otters at the aquarium after being deemed not releasable.
Vancouver Aquarium will be closing down after September 7th. It is a temporary measure, as the facility put out a statement that said "we are losing money every day we are open". There is hope that at some point in the future the establishment will once again be open to the public. On a personal note, for 10 consecutive years my family has visited the aquarium on January 1st and paid for a group photo as in some years we had relatives with us. The opportunity for an 11th consecutive New Year's Day visit looks rather bleak at the moment.
