I'm going to visit Zoo Schoenbrunn this week. Is there anything I should try to find out? Take any special pictures?

Hi Jola, hope you had a good visit. What's happening with the polar bears, have they found new homes for the cubs and females yet?

    Well, I had a wonderful afternoon there. :) :) :)

@polar bears: our twin boys "Arktos" & "Nanuq" (23 months old) are scheduled to be transferred to Zoo Hannover when the new polar bear enclosure called "Yukon Bay" will be opened there in early 2010. Where Mummy "Olinka" will be go to is still written in the stars.

This is mama's boy "Nanuq", a week ago:

Hi Jola, thanks for the info, & you tube footage! :)

Is there any news on the Giant Panda cub ? Presumably it will return to China at some point ?

That's excellent news! Are the adults now in the old Nile croc exhibit? If so, what are the zoo planning to do with the old Mexico House?

With some infusion of new bloodlines for SSP or Meso-American zoos I can see a full EEP/ESB for Morelett's crocs C. moreletti developing in Europe.
The other breeder being Cotswold WP, Burford, UK.

Parc Merveilleux in France has a pair. And I believe both Krokodille Zoo in Daenemark and Protovin in Czech Republic maintain young groups. There is a lone male at Zoologico de Barcelona (and I am figuratively killing myself that this individual be given over the a breeding programme proper instead of languishing alone / besides this zoo has quite a need for more space for their breeding crocs like C. siamensis et cetera).
