I believe they are renovating their exhibit right now and have sent them elsewhere.

In regards to the renovation at New York Aquarium: Kulu is now at Point Defiance and Nuka is at SeaWorld San Antonio.

No, Nuka passed away in 2015. Seaworld San Antonio no longer houses any walruses. Takena has also passed away and Dozer was transferred to PDZA

@Hyak_II: Yes, you're right. The article I checked was actually from 2014.

Came by accident along a note of a walrus kept in the 1970-ties at Dolfinarium Harderwijk - the Netherlands.
The female was called Katinka and was born June 1974 in the wild. She arrived at Harderwijk on Oct. 2 of that same year and died May 5 1977. Her skull and unmounted skeleton were then donated to the Zoological Museum of Amsterdam.

    In happy news:

Sea World Orlando just had a live birth, unnamed and unknown sex. Father was Garfield, Mother was Kaboodle, making her 3rd generation as Kaboodle was from Male: Obie, Female: Kit.

    http://miami.cbslocal.com/2017/06/13/walrus-calf-born-seaworld-orlando/

That puts Sea World Orlando at 5 = 2.2(1).

Dozer(1.0) is going to go on breeding loan to another location in the next few months from Point Defiance.

    :)That's great! Congratulations!
I'd like to add one more link:
SeaWorld Orlando Welcomes Baby Walrus | SeaWorld Orlando
Don't miss to have a look at the nice High-Res B-Roll and Photos offered there!
By the way: Do you know, where 1.0 Dozer will be transferred to?
I suppose it migth be SIX FLAGS DISCOVERY KINGDOM, Vallejo, California, USA, because that's the only institution in USA that has more than 1 suitable female for him. (0.2 Uquq & Siku)

Dozer moved to SeaWorld San Diego recently, not sure why. He is supposedly there with Chouchou and Mitik, a male who used to live at SeaWorld San Antonio. SeaWorld Orlando continues to hold Garfield, Kaboodle, and Kaboodle's pup in Wild Arctic and Slowpoke and Bruiser at Sea Lion and Otter Stadium. I think Chouchou, Mitik, and Dozer are being held at Wild Arctic, but SeaWorld San Diego has the option of using Sea Lion and Otter Stadium as well.

The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska has taken in a young Pacific Walrus for rehabilitation. I'm hoping to drive down and take a look at it this week.

0.1 Gelusha gave birth to a female pub at Royal Ocean World in Shenyang, China.
I think, that's the first walrus baby ever born in China!
Unfortunately, I don't understand Chinese. Therefore, I have little information...

Very sad news from Hamburg. On Monday morning, August 21st our two year old female "Loki" passed away suddenly. She was born in 2015 at Hamburg. We are all very sad. Our group now contains 2,3 pacific walrusses: Odin (m) *1996; Polosa (f) *1996; Dyna (f) *1996; Raia (f) * 2004 at Hardewijk; Thor (m) *2014 at Hamburg (Odin X Dyna)

Kaboodle's pup received a name at SeaWorld Orlando. The pup is a female, her name is Ginger.

I'm not really astonished. I was afraid for the last two years, that this will happen sooner or later. Perhaps some of you know, Loki was born with a lymphangioma. Management declared this was only a "cosmetic problem". I wanted to believe them and hoped at least it would stop growing. But it didn't stop growing, and it was hard to believe that her enormous tumor was only a "cosmetic problem". Necropsy will show, if this was the reason for her death.

Nevertheless of course I'm extremly sad. One of our beloved walrus-offsprings dead - that's too much for me, that mustn't be true, but I'm afraid it is... I can't stop crying...
I offer my condulences to the whole Eismeer-Team. I'm with you in my mind.
R.I.P. Loki - our beloved little girl. I'll never forget you.
