I hate to tell you, but what you describe is text-speak, so our unfortunate homeland is already past the point of no return......o_O

I know... at least among the younger population it's past the point, as you say. Knew what I was aiming for but didn't get there. Not my best comeback.

Reminder to both of you, "The younger generation" and "the children" will be here long after we're gone, so whatever applies to them is the future. Besides, even I at my advanced age of 58 use text-speak, so I suspect you do as well. It's just as irrevocably a part of the fabric of our culture as bacteria and pathogens are to the normal environment. This is just as permanently set--on both sides of the pond--as the spelling differences of favourite/favorite and realise/realize.

Like what? You weren't far off with the height, eye color, or long-ish hair.

I imagine a blond bloke (see I can speak your language) of average height and average build with blue eyes. And since I'm an American and it's my job to stereotype other countries, bad teeth as well.

You got the bad teeth right, totally wrong on all other aspects though... :p

EDIT - well done on using the word bloke, you'll go far my young Padawan. :D

I imagined about the same albeit without the bad teeth, but I think it was just because of the mongoose in your profile picture :D!

I was once told by a foreign exchange student from the Netherlands that the only American stereotype there is that we eat peanut and jelly sandwiches a lot.

On a serious note, many immigrants silently view us as unwilling to work hard, too consumed by electronics and other recreation, and being too wrapped up in personal pleasure to give to any societal cause.

On a less serious note, despite my age, I'm told I rate high in the all-important equine criteria of great teeth and hair and just pretend not to notice the occasional lameness.
