This thread is to discuss your avatar photo and what it is about it that you have it such as meaning, favourite or rare animal or a unforgettable experience.

My photo is of Mezcal,a four year old female Komodo Dragon that currently resides at Chester Zoo.I chose it because it was one of my best photos that I took during that visit and Komodo Dragons happen to be my favourite animal.

My profile pic is a water dragon that I work with. I used to have a better photo but I accidently deleted it so the one I have now is only temporary.

mine's a mystery apparently. From previous discussions Americans generally think it's a beaver.

A tiger for the simple reason I like cats. I chose this one because it is a clear closeup. Since the avatar is so small on the screen, a closeup works best for this purpose (in my opinion). Everything else I see posted above would be fine as a large image, but do not work well as a tiny avatar (again in my opinion).

Mine is a picture of a Laughing Dove to match the name. It's probably my best picture of this species and is a wild bird in Saudi Arabia in the area around my house from when I lived there. I quite like it because it's a nice clear image and the colour of the bird matches the terracotta tiles in the background.

Mine are three feathers from my old enthusiastic feather collecting times, now passed away, but that was my main interest in life when I registered in ZooChat. It shows three of the most beautiful feathers I have, all of them from the tail: Palawan peacock-pheasant (male), red-tailed black cockatoo (female) and blue jay.

Mine is a close-up image of a brown lemur scratching itself at Selwo Aventura. Like Arizona Docent, I felt it was fitting in the sense that it is clearer and more visible as a profile picture.

Mine is a gigantic male American crocodile, living along the Tarcoles River in Costa Rica, that is called Osama bin Laden (several of the other large crocodiles we encountered were also named after famous people).
