Hi everyone, I'm sure many of you remember the three bears at Leipzig Zoo who mysteriously lost their fur 10 years ago. Does anyone know what happened to them? did their fur ever grow back? I've been searching, but can't find any information or updates on them past the viral articles from 2009/2010. thanks for your help, Jo
I believe Dolores and Lolita passed away in 2011, but the third bear in question - Bianca - was still alive last I heard, albeit extremely geriatric and no longer on display. I have no idea whether any of them regained their hair, but I seem to recall the cause remained a mystery - certainly none of the male bears in the exhibit (now deceased) suffered alopecia, and nor did any of the parents of the bears in question.
