Whether the handfull of Malayan tigers kept in 9 European zoos will be sent to USA for SSP breeding programme there? Here wich zoos have them in Europe:

They are not listed on EAZA breeding programes (EEP & less intensive ESB), here as of february 2016

Anybody to know what is the current plan with them?
It would be such a lost if they are whiped out just uncoordinated, and if the unrepresented founders not leave their genetic lines in American captive population..
What is going on with them..? Please sent them in USA, or at least include them in ESB and then in SSP.

Just because a species isn't listed as being a manged breeding program by EAZA,does not mean that the collections involved keeping this species are not carefully managing the animals they have!!In the case of these that is very much the case,in fact do not be surprised if a couple more get imported to add the the gene pool!!!Given that the last I heard there was some doubt about the genetic purity of some of the ones in the USA,I would suggest until that is cleared up none of the ones in Europe go any where near the USA,as all the ones in Europe are pure!!!

Anybody to know about Malayan tiger cubs birth in Europe? Actually is there was any birth of Malayan tigers in Europe?

If not, why they are not breeding? What zoos are waiting?

And how many Malayan tigers are in Europe currently?

Even if Malayans were being phased out in Europe, importing them to the US would assume that there is space available for them, which is somewhat doubtful. There is some space coming from the phasing out of generic tigers, but it's still limited, certainly too much to allow the import of all Malayans at once.

Has anybody read or heard of birth of a Malayan tiger cubs in Europe? The subspecies is already present, not in 9, but in 10 institutions in Europe.
