Wildlife Waystation is a long-standing exotic animal rescue center in the mountains north of Los Angeles. (I toured it once when I still lived there, circa 1990). For years they were beset with trouble and cited for violations by USDA (washing animal waste into the streambed, unsafe caging, etc). During this time they were forced to stop offering public tours and I am not sure if they ever resumed or not. In any case they are finally shutting down for good. The home page of their website, linked below, gives an explanation of the reasons.
