According to Facebook post from a member of Brno's city council, zoo will get new polar bear male from Holland next year after reconstruction of current exhibit will be finished.
There must be plans somewhere around as this project had been in the planning stages for some years now!
It won't be construction of whole new exhibit which is planned for years and its visualisations is on zoo's website, that is for sure. Basically what has been said is that the bears will get new pool - larger and deeper than the current one. There will be new concrete floor made and some rockwork (both natural and mock rock) placed.
Indeed, so it is. It also need pointing out ZZ Brno has a good track record in polar bear husbandry and breeding!
I think it also needs pointing out that the current exhibit is essentially a classic bear pit that isn't really fit for purpose.
I see no need to take on this argument any further as the renovation is part and parcel of improving the current exhibit (deservedly so or undeservedly so). What I will say though is that no amount of new polar bear exhibit development can take away some of the breeding achievements in modern day and age considered substandard, outdated or downright sub fossil historical exhibitry where breeding achievements may have been totally contradictory to any well thought through hyper new and modern day husbandry and animal welfare aspects and zoo management considerations in design and operation new polar bear developments (both in size, tools and instruments within and / or replacting natural habitats … exhibits might hope to achieve). Amen! (This quip needs no response here …, for those wishing to take it any further I suggest than setting up a separate thread. And no, for now, I am not going to participate in any of that for entirely personal reasons. And please no offence to anyone intended to take up discourse … to be direct and to the point here).

It seems that new larger chimpanzee outdoor paddock was finally opened - for visitors, not for animals, who don´t have acces to it due to planned reconstruction or upgrades inside their house
The zoo got financial support from the local municipality - 288.000 EUR. Those will be used to build a (mixed?) new enclosure for African pigs and mongooses next spring.
