Be they a cash grab or something that makes a zoo more unique than the others, what is your favorite/least favorite zoo mascot.? My favorite is Artis de Partis and least fevortite is Kapitan (from Nagasaki biopark who replaced a cuter mascot)
I can think of several good logos of zoos but I can't really think of many mascots. Actually I think this is probably more common as a phenomenon in the USA than in other countries. One mascot that I do think is a good idea is the Hispaniolan Solenodon mascot used by ZOODOM in the Dominican Republic (I have no idea what its "name" is though) as it highlights this endemic / native species to the general public. I guess that is the only positive example of the use of a mascot by a zoo that comes to mind for me right now.
