Does anyone have a list of species for this zoo? I checked the website and it did not list the animals.

Does anyone have any information about the new bonobo exhibit that was planned?

Something new with elephants? None of the elephants is still pregnant? Sdudla was a successful breeding bull. It is true that Lowry Park does not report elephant pregnancy.

Chimps moved to San Francisco September 13 2019. I cannot find a news article but it was on the Zoo Tampa Facebook page.

They have not announced what will replace them, or when. However, it could be the bonobo exhibit rumored.

God San Francisco is getting more Chimps . They currently have only one smallish outdoor exhibit and one day-room for the existing chimps and new pair of orangutans. Now they bring in more animals they need to integrate, before building the promised expansion that would allow both species to actually be outside.

I don't know what San Francisco's enclosure is like and it's not good if they're getting more chimps if it's bad but I have seen Tampa's enclosure and I think it's great news that they no longer how chimps there. Almost all of the zoo's primate area is severely outdated.

Well in San Francisco they now have a pair of orangutans, their old chimps, and these new ones rotating between a single basic indoor dayroom, a elevated walkway, and an average outdoor yard. The plan was to build a new complex for chimps and then bring in orangutans, but plans appear to have changed and now the orangutans live in the same holding building that was derided as inhumane for the chimps.

And instead of finishing up another new exhibit & holding building for these apes, they invested in other projects such as the snow leopard expansion & Madagascar complex.

Yes, it is. While most of the rest of the zoo has had refreshes since it opened, "Primate World" has had only minor enhancements. They added some substantial climbing devices for the orangutans and enrichment for the other primates, but that is about it. It is the last area that has not changed, other than the aviary. The aviary is fine as it is, but Primate World desperately needs an update, hopefully the moving of the chimps will be the start of this.
