Been to the Wuppertaler Zoo last monday. A decent Zoo, very roomy with lots of what would in Holland be called "dead space" while some enclosures aren't that big...

Seen just about every animal i wanted to see, including a rather short glimpse of the yellow-backed duiker, monkeys (dusky langurs and golden-bellied mangabeys) and a LOT of rare (in captivity) birdspecies. Highlight was for me the tapir house, with 4 boxes (with glass) and a big bath with underwater viewing. The elephant house is also very nice, allthough the outside ain't all that big...

Photo's include the painted- and shoe-billed stork, the bleep-of-the-rock and a few eiders, they are here: Germany: Zoo Wuppertal :: Fotopic.Net

If there are any questions, let me know :)

jwer - Nice pictures. Did you get any photos of the Baird's tapirs/their house?
